The Colacem system becomes an environmental recovery practice on Rai Uno’s Super Quark
The sixth ‘episode’ of Super Quark, the popular TV show hosted by Piero Angela, went on the air last evening on primetime ( at 9:20 pm) on Rai Uno, and spoke about the Colacem mine in San Marco, Gubbio.
The ten minute TV report made by the correspondent Lorenzo Pinna, close collaborator with Piero Angela, showed the situation of mining areas in Italy, in order to understand how to avoid “carious mountains” , i.e. mountains that show visible mining holes, without any environmental recovery practices being carried out.
The ‘solution’ in order to do things right and a good example of it has been identified in the Colacem San Marco mine in Gubbio. The extraction method was explained in the interview with Antonio Berrettini, responsible for Colacem mining areas, that was transmitted during the TV program: mining, recovery and reuse of the area are carried out concurrently, so that in the end there is no trace of the mining activity performed and the area (often improved) is given back and made usable again by the population. The video has been posted on Colacem social networks.
