‘STOP’ Project, for a safety –oriented culture

Colacem has been implementing the  ‘Stop’  project in all of its Italian production sites, in order to encourage the  workers’ occupational health and safety culture, which goes far beyond the strict requirements of applicable standards in force.
It has been demonstrated that to  further reduce the number (albeit already greatly reduced) and the severity of accidents, it is necessary to focus mainly on people’s behavior, in addition to technical and production aspects.
The Stop training program is based on the observation of behavior with the goal of increasing safety, thus implementing  preventive actions for the reduction of accidents and injuries. Throughout the program, particular attention will be paid to safety, and all of the best communication methods, will be learnt by all of the employees involved.
In order to best broaden the knowledge on the subject, materials such as books and videos will be made available, in addition to the opportunity of participating in discussions and checks during special meetings.
Once having identified the causes,  the STOP project will propose specific actions aimed at eliminating or reducing risks, at the same time raising  safety  culture and awareness in all of  the  workers.
DuPont has been selected to support such activity: this company boasts 200 years of experience, and is a world leader in the field of safety. The program should achieve results in terms of significantly reducing  work accidents and injuries.
The project effectiveness will greatly depend on people’s ability of working together as a team, thus spreading proper work attitudes/behavior within the plant.
The "SICURAMENTE" brand will further highlight  the importance of motivation in the STOP  project, and  represents another distinguishing feature of the involvement of the entire company in this field.
