Adriano Brunetti is the new Chairman of ADOCEM

Mr. Adriano Brunetti, the new Chairman appointed by the Dominican Association of Cement Producers (Adocem), assumes the role in a period of strong growth in the cement industry.

Mr. Adriano Brunetti, CEO of  Domicem, has been elected  Chairman of Adocem (Dominican Association of Cement Manufacturers). The new Chairman, in his office installation  speech ,  showed that the construction sector accounted for 12,5% of GDP in the first quarter of this year and how this was reflected in a 9,6% increase in sales of cement. Mr. Brunetti reconfirmed the institutional commitment to active cooperation for the development of the Dominican economy and society through the entire chain represented by cement and concrete production . Companies with over 10 thousand employees are  involved in the  entire production cycle - from raw material extraction to finished product application - .
"Our sector – Mr. Brunetti  emphasizes – represents an actual  model of sustainable development and results are evident . Installed capacity is of  around 8 million tons at present, with an estimated annual per capita consumption of over 400 kilograms".
After this brief introduction, the official installation ceremony of the new board was held  at the Epic Center, Blue Mall , which will remain in office  for the 2019/2021 two-year  period. The  2018 Adocem Report, entitled: "Competitiveness, Sustainability and Resilience" was  also presented in this occasion :  a text collecting  all the most important economic/financial, social and environmental initiatives undertaken  by companies operating  in the cement sector in the Dominican Republic in the year 2018.
The new Board of Directors  of Adocem - in addition to the new Chairman, Mr.  Adriano Brunetti - , is made up of  Mr.  José Antonio Cabrera from  Cemex, vice-chairman; Mr. Gary De La Rosa from Argos Dominicana, secretary; Mrs. Cruz Amalia Rodríguez from  Cementos Cibao, treasurer, and  Mr. Félix González, from Cemento Santo Domingo and Mrs. Julissa Báez, executive director.
