Colacem has invested 120 million dollars in Dominican Republic
The subsidiary company Domicem will double its production capacity
The top management of Domicem, the Dominican subsidiary of Colacem S.p.A., were received yesterday by the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, to announce the forthcoming construction of a new cement production line, in addition to the already existing one located in Sabana Grande de Palenque.
A major investment of more than $120 million, which will double the plant's production capacity. The President has enthusiastically commented this project , as it will surely result in the creation of hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, in addition to the ones Domicem has already been providing, and will give a strong boost to the economic and productive development of the whole region.
The company management , after thanking the President, went on saying that the new production line will start operation by the end of 2022, and will surely contribute to increase export volumes in both new and current markets. This new investment further demonstrates the confidence that the Italian company has always had in the potential of Dominican Republic and its institutions and represents a further step in the growth path undertaken in 2005 that has led Domicem to become a market leader in terms of products/services quality , organization level and advanced technologies implemented aimed at producing cement in an environmentally-friendly manner.
